1997 was a very exciting year for WATER CITY ROLLER HOCKEY in Marina. We have turned our leaky old building into what is now the best roller hockey facility in the state. Through private sources we raised funds to cover the $100,000 plus price tag for state of the art A-TAK Sport Court, Pro 5000 Dasher Boards, Tempered glass, and various other improvements. These improvements have offered us a number of new opportunities:

Hosting the First Annual Santa Shootout which brought teens from all over Northern California to stay for the weekend and play at Water City AIRHS May 1,2,3 KoHo Cup Qualifier May 16th and 17th Tryout camp for Major League Roller Hockey Joined forces with Inline Retro Fit and created Inline Retro Fit @ Water City, a full service Pro Shop Included in the course catalog for California State University Monterey Bay. To our knowledge, this is the first and only credited roller hockey class in the country! It was our pleasure to host the Recreational Conversion Ceremony at our facility in November. Those in attendance can attest to the overwhelming response from BRAC, National Parks Service, Congressman Sam Farr, and the community.

WATER CITY is becoming the positive place in our community that we envisioned. More to come!
